Victims of Child Abuse (VOCA)
What is VOCA?
CYFS’s VOCA program provides direct outpatient counseling to children
who have been victims of abuse as well as to their non-abusing family members.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Amy Kite helps children to cope with the trauma
of abuse. Families learn to strengthen safety measures to prevent the re-occurrence
of trauma.
In addition, VOCA provides community education and training on issues of child
physical and sexual abuse as needed.
Children may be referred to the program by social services agencies, police,
courts, and concerned individuals, including family members.
All VOCA’s services are provided free of charge.
