CYFS is all about kids and has been for 89 years!  CYFS is a local nonprofit that uses education and counseling to keep kids from failing.

In the last year alone, we gave over 4,000 kids a chance – for a successful future, a chance for positive family interactions, a chance for quality early learning, a chance for a safe place to live.  Unfortunately, too many kids in our community are not given the chances they so greatly deserve. 

Our Goals

• CYFS is all about kids, from 0 – 18 years of age.
• We have programs that start prenatally before babies are even born.
• All of our programs are designed to prevent problems before they have a chance to interfere with kids’
successful development.
• We try to address risk factors and remove barriers to kids’ successful functioning.
• Our goal is to have kids get the skills, the knowledge, the experiences they need to become productive adults.
• We meet kids and families where they are – physically, socially and emotionally.
• Very few of our services actually happen in our building. We are out there in the neighborhoods where kids and
families are so they can access our services as easily as possible.
• We also try to meet them where they are in terms of their own goals. We try to help them meet their goals for
their family rather than come in with a predetermined plan.
• We recognize that they have their own strengths and goals and we work to help them find the best way to get
there.
